Huh. I'm not sure why, but a surprising number of new people have shown up recently. Hello, new people! Do not be alarmed if I am slow or fail to reciprocate, particularly on LJ, but please feel welcome. Pull up a chair. Have a mimosa.

I'm kind of curious where all of you have come from, so if you like take a moment in comments to let me know what brought you here, and what you're interested in seeing more of. Poetry? Guns? Discussion of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's finances? I'm just curious what people are suddenly signing on for.

Some people may have arrived via this post from rydra_wong.

That is a big part of the explanation! Thanks.

I don't know if I count as new precisely as I've been around for a while, but I've finally gotten over regarding your journal as performance art and thinking "Maybe I should actually talk to him."

Erm. Hi!

It was "Oh John Ringo NO!" that bought me here. After many times of thinking "who was that guy... damn, have to look him up" I decided friending you would be easier. I liked the poems, find the analysis of ACD interesting but tend to tune out for the gun stuff. Being locked in a room with a glass wall while a maniac who'd bought over 100 bullets and 7 handguns and already killed two people roamed the building tends to do that to you.

(I accept that you have the right to like guns, etc. I will just avoid those discussions)

Hi!

No worries. I'm very glad you made it out okay.

I first found you with Oh John Ringo No! and have come back to read that several times. I'm also here for the guns and Arthur Conan Doyle. In fact, I think it was the discussion of the guns that made me decide to stick around and Friend you.

Ciao! I read Oh John Ringo No a long time ago and laughed my ass off, and then I read the Cable and Deadpool Yuletide Special and laughed my ass off (in the manner of Ted Kord, if you do or do not remember), so I figured it was worth following for further potential LOLing.

I'm up for Arthur Conan Doyle too, though.

I do remember! Thanks for the comment.

I will try to deliver the LOLz.

Hello! Thanks for being here!

I will probably talk to you about fancomics at some point, because I've been writing my own for a while. (Original stuff, working on illustrating with 3D renders.)

Doctor/River

Like with everyone else, it was Oh John Ringo No being linked again recently by a friend, then I realised that you were the person who wrote that excellent Han/Leia fic a while ago and decided to finally add you! (Although perhaps I should have done so on DW instead? I didn't think to check if you were x-posting there.)

I am crossposting, yes! Though I read my DW feed much less than my LJ one. Read me wherever you like.

I started reading with Oh John Ringo No, too! Have actually been reading for a while, but finally got brave enough to actually add you. I'm trying to be less lurky in 2010.

No problem with lurking whatsoever, but you are more than welcome to come out of the shadows.

I know you from somewhere. Maybe some silly larp club. And we have some similar tastes in books.

Not really new, but

Lesee, "Oh,no, John Ringo." Got me here in the first place...and you share a name with a good friend from high school, and you like guns and H.Beam Piper. I liked a lot of the "Poem a day" posts.
What's not to like? Haven't been on here in awhile - getting a Master's In Education while workin full time can really cut into your recreational internet time, ya know?
But it looks like you're cranking along fine, my friend.
