snow day!

February 14th, 2007 (09:29 pm)

Woke up this morning to lots and lots of snow as Valentine's Day dawned. What is the sane and intelligent thing for an American exile in Canada to do? GO TO NIAGARA FALLS. WITH ANOTHER MAN.

(Doing my part for those out there who like to imagine me in RPS. You know who you are.)

Yes, it's bachelor Valentine's Day, as my buddy and I tromped through the snow, hopped a bus, drove through more snow, made it to Niagara, took a cab through more snow, and finally tromped through even more snow to the casino. Tomorrow, when it's less snowy, I shall observe the Falls and fight the temptation to re-enact the "playing on the railing" scene from SUPERMAN II. (I have not gambled yet; it's on the agenda for tomorrow. I appear to have good luck with me, because when I was at the pal's elbow, he won.)

Finally, to honor the day: check out Comicvine's Superhero Dating Quiz to find out which superhero or heroine you're best suited for. Apparently, I am destined to date Ms. Marvel, Aurora, or Psylocke. I'm only familiar with the last, and none of them are the names *I* would have supplied as superheroines I'd be interested in taking out to dinner. Or Niagara Falls.

Hey, I scored Kitty Pryde, *mumble mumble*[1], and the Invisible Woman. I can be happy with that.

[1]Oh, all right! Second choice was Aunt May. Aunt freaking May! And the picture wasn't young, hot May, either.

/sigh

Stupid internet.

Two out of three ain't bad! (But that is an amusing three. Intangible, invisible, and inadvisable!)

The good news is that Aunt May will make you wheatcakes in the morning.

I attempted to discover more about ComicVine's weighting criteria by leaving all questions and neutral and just playing with one slider. However, if I put in "seeking men" and claimed I was "very very gay" it gave me three women, and if I claimed I was seeking men," and that appearance was important, it gave me the Thing. I can only conclude it's carefully calibrated to fuck with the end user.

Lemme know when you figure out what I have to say to get a date with She-Hulk. *grin*

Sue Dibny thinky face

Aurora is Northstar's twin sister, I believe. IIRC, she's loony. ::coughs:: But pretty!

Ms. Marvel is a better choice, though. She's pretty and sweet and nice, although perhaps just a *tad* dim, depending on who's writing her at the time.

Have fun at the Falls!

I do like the "nice girl" superheroes. Alas, most of them tend to be jailbait. Well, and fictional and out of my league, but my ego requires that "jailbait" be considered the correct category.
