and I almost forgot

I'm in Albuquerque on a business trip, and yesterday while walking to the conference hotel I saw that a street was blocked off and trailers were everywhere. Rubble was artfully strewn around, as were heavily-damaged cars. And there was a camera crew.

Word got around that the movie being shot was a segment for Frank Miller's film adaptation of THE SPIRIT. I did not, however, see any whores. Also, IMDB says it's in post-production. The mystery was solved last night, when a friend mentioned he'd seen Gerard Butler getting some make-up applied. Butler is starring in GAME, an MMORPG-inspired movie, and it's filming in Albuquerque now.

I didn't see Butler myself, but my friend reports that he is a frigging enormous man. Although I'm a little disappointed not to have seen a bit of WHORESWHORESWHORES THE SPIRIT.
