That pesky caliber problem

One problem most gun nuts face, sooner or later, is the bewildering proliferation of calibers. This is something a lot of non-gunners don't understand; you'll often hear people wondering why those dang gun nuts need so many weapons, anyway. The short answer is that like all tools, different guns and cartridges have different capabilities and advantages, and they feel very different when you actually use them. Also, it's fun.

The downside is that it's easy to wind up with a whole bunch of guns that don't necessarily shoot the same ammo. That can get expensive very fast, and if you do any competition shooting in different calibers your trips to the range could result in you getting a hernia from lugging all those guns around.
