The early bird, or so it's said,
shows us to get out of bed,
but I don't think I like its terms:
get up early -- to eat worms?
And yes, I am up insanely early. The reason: I'm about to drive to State College, PA to meet up with H. Beam Piper biographer John F. Carr and some other folks for a Piper ramble. We're going to visit some Piper-significant spots -- in particular, the locations used for LORD KALVAN OF OTHERWHEN -- and then drop by Williamsport for lunch with John Hunsinger and a friend of his, both of whom were friends with Beam.
Should be fun! Carr and I have spoken on the phone, but we've never met in person before. Lately we've been talking about an interesting possibility regarding Beam's personal history -- just speculation, but it's really quite interesting. Further details to come!
