I tried something new in terms of eyeglass shopping: I bought online. I got a $39 vision check at my local Wal-Mart, had my pupillary distance measured at the same place, and took the prescription and PD to a site that offered me a pretty good choice of frame styles. I decided I'd try rimless glasses -- hadn't before, and they seem to be in style these days. Frames: $39.00, folding clip-ons included; lenses: $35.00; shipping: $8.00; and a ten percent discount for using a promo link and code. Total: $73.80, with vision check $112.80. Ordered September 11; they shipped on the 17th, and arrived today. Not bad for coming from Hong Kong. And I could have bought cheaper. As it is, these are cheap enough that I'll probably get another pair or two of glasses.
