I have new eyeglasses. As those of you who have glasses and have gone a few years between pairs will understand, this means that today I'm going around boggling at how things look weird. And by "look weird" I mean "are in focus."

I tried something new in terms of eyeglass shopping: I bought online. I got a $39 vision check at my local Wal-Mart, had my pupillary distance measured at the same place, and took the prescription and PD to a site that offered me a pretty good choice of frame styles. I decided I'd try rimless glasses -- hadn't before, and they seem to be in style these days. Frames: $39.00, folding clip-ons included; lenses: $35.00; shipping: $8.00; and a ten percent discount for using a promo link and code. Total: $73.80, with vision check $112.80. Ordered September 11; they shipped on the 17th, and arrived today. Not bad for coming from Hong Kong. And I could have bought cheaper. As it is, these are cheap enough that I'll probably get another pair or two of glasses.

If you're interested in doing this, Glassy Eyes is your site. Links to several discount eyeglass places, and information on how to get what you need.
