APED: "beatrix potter double dactyl"

January 24th, 2009 (12:59 pm)

Hippity-hoppity,
Mister MacGregor is
mourning his garden --
unhappy man.

Lapines malificent,
lactucavoracious,
munch and then hide in his
watering can.

I hadn´t thought of it, but of course double-dactyl is the correct metre in which to write about rabbits! It´s how they do it!

donuts?

I... am turning this over in my head and cannot find a way in which this is not awesome.

(I am seeing the bumper stickers now: RABBITS DO IT IN DOUBLE-DACTYL.)

!love!

oh my GOD bunnies, so adorable. SOADORABLE. (Also, totally soothes the oh my god BUNNIES feeling I got last week from watching Watership Down for the first time. The book was so much less traumatizing.) ♥

Yay!

If you think the film of WATERSHIP DOWN is horrifying, you should see THE PLAGUE DOGS. Or possibly not. But yeah, WATERSHIP DOWN. I loved the book as a kid, so watched the movie and was traumatized by Woundwort's last slow-motion leap.

!distractable!

It was so gratuitous. Oh my god. I watched it with my girlfriend, who's never read the book; she doesn't have a lot of patience for reading long things (I'm working on her. I promise.) so I thought this would be a good introduction. Plus we'd been talking about cute bunnies a lot. So, more cute bunnies, right? Wrooooong. We were both just staring at the screen going "Whut." But we did both swoon when the prayer was recited. ♥

I repeat again: your field bunnies, and your poem bunnies. Ohmygoodness. Lookit their little scwoochiemumkpins noses. Yuss. Yuss.

(On a completely different and amusingly ironic note, your comment arrived in my inbox right in the middle of my having a OH JOHN RINGO NO moment at a text (for class) by Friedrich Kittler: here is my relevant post, if you've five minutes and 10 brain cells to spare. >.< )
