APED: "robin and batgirl"

riah_chan requested a poem about Robin and Batgirl.

With apologies to A.A. Milne, after his "Buckingham Palace."

The villains of Gotham at night are awhirl --
Robin goes out to fight crime with Batgirl.
"The Penguin's still free! BG, that's for the birds."
"We'll take him down when Batman gives the word,"
says Batgirl.

The villains of Gotham at night are awhirl --
Robin goes out to fight crime with Batgirl.
"You hit Two-Face high, BG! I'll hit him low!"
"He's hurt you before, so let's take this slow,"
says Batgirl.

The villains of Gotham at night are awhirl --
Robin goes out to fight crime with Batgirl.
"If we stop Mad Hatter, our hat trick is done!" --
"Robin, must you always make awful puns?"
says Batgirl.

The villains of Gotham at night are awhirl --
Robin goes out to fight crime with Batgirl.
Catwoman steals jewels, and battle is joined --
"I'll hit you myself if you say 'purr-loined,'"
says Batgirl.

The villains of Gotham at night are awhirl --
Robin goes out to fight crime with Batgirl.
The Riddler's cruel death trap encased them in brick.
"It's a good thing his mortar's not terribly thick,"
says Batgirl.

The villains of Gotham at night are awhirl.
Robin goes out to fight crime with Batgirl.
"Batgirl," says Robin, "will you marry me?"
"Grow up a bit, Robin dear, and we'll see,"
says Batgirl.
