APED: "ragtail, bottle and bones"

Three dead men way down in the grave
(ragtail, ragtail, bottle and bones)
Six feet down is dark, be brave
(ragtail, ragtail, bottle and bones)
Company is what they crave
(ragtail, ragtail, bottle and bones)
Safe and sound without a care
Dig down deep, you'll find them there
You can see them if you dare --
ragtail, ragtail, ragtail, ragtail,
ragtail, ragtail, bottle and bones.

One wore a cloth scrap in his hair
(ragtail, ragtail, bottle and bones)
One brought a fifth of whiskey there
(ragtail, ragtail, bottle and bones)
One is thin beyond compare
(ragtail, ragtail, bottle and bones)
never once an angry word
not one argument occurred
no complaint was ever heard
from ragtail, ragtail, ragtail, ragtail,
ragtail, ragtail, bottle and bones.

You don't know them, but you will
(ragtail, ragtail, bottle and bones)
Go ahead and live your fill
(ragtail, ragtail, bottle and bones)
They're waiting now, and they'll wait still
(ragtail, ragtail, bottle and bones)
Hollow cheeks and sunken eyes
turned up, never seeing the skies
The stone above them reads, Here lies
ragtail, ragtail, ragtail, ragtail,
ragtail, ragtail, bottle and bones.
