APED: "cities"

We build our cities, tall and strong,
on river's banks, deep-rooted rocks,
and mountainsides, so they'll last long,
and withstand time and sudden shocks,
but earth can quake, volcanoes burst,
and rivers rise to sweep away,
to render those once blessed, cursed,
the difference but a single day.
