APED: "the count's niece's invitation"

The count's poor scribe has taken sick.
He's quite ill, so this falls to me:
Evening brings dear Uncle's ball.
You're invited. Come and see.

By the bye, if you have heard --
I did -- foul rumors, spread by some
These are lies. Be not deterred.
Everything is well. Please come.
