APED: "last man"

I've got all the gadgets I ever could want
and I don't ever have to eat peas.
I drive really fast in all of my cars,
wherever whenever I please.
I'm dripping in diamonds and gold chains and furs.
I don't know just how much I'm worth --
not that it matters, 'cause, far as I know,
right now I'm the last man on earth.

I can't say I'm sorry to be all alone.
I never had too many friends.
Don't much care to know where them folks have all gone,
and I don't much try to pretend.
The funniest part of all of it is
I never much wanted to be
the toast of the town, the king of the hill --
except now, who'd think it -- that's me!
