Shane Black is going to write and direct a DOC SAVAGE movie!!!!!!!!!
If, y'know, they make it. But c'mon, SHANE FREAKIN' BLACK. The dude did everything from LETHAL WEAPON to KISS KISS BANG BANG, so if this happens it's gonna kick ass.
(As you guys know, I love Doc Savage beyond words.)

Casting is going to be really interesting. Two names that fans are batting around now are Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and ROME's Ray Stevenson. I think Johnson would be great physically, but he'll have to develop some new acting tools because his natural charisma and affability make him too approachable for the part; Stevenson has a great vibe and is a brilliant actor, but at 45 he's probably a bit past the age to debut as Doc. It is going to be a tough, tough casting job.

I think that would make me almost as happy as the Rocketeer movie made me ^_^. edit: and I was about nine when that movie came out, so it's enshrined in the "awesome things from my childhood" collection next to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Princess Bride.
