Voter fraud watch

October 18th, 2004 (11:14 am)

Conservative blogger Bill Hobbs is keeping an archive of accounts of apparent voter fraud. Some of the most interesting stuff seems to be going on in Colorado, which offers many opportunities for fraud and where the motive (as in Michigan) has been as much pecuniary as ideological; "One woman has told a Denver television station she registered to vote 25 times and signed up several friends up to 40 times each to help her boyfriend, who was being paid by a community group to register new voters."

Other places are reporting registered voters who don't exist.

I love election year!

I remember when I got my registeration thing from the Fukuoka branch of the US embassy here, I messed up and went back for another. Guy wanted to know if it was for another person, apparently, they keep track of the numbers, and the bigger the number, the better it looks. ;p

Like the US embassy does diddly in Japan, though, really.

Bloggers are sure keeping everyone on their toes.

And finally, at least now I get to go vote. Yes, David, I know my state doesn't get the harassment you are getting in Florida (I really feel for you guys), but I just can't wait for this whole thing to be over. It will be my luck that we will have to same debacle as in the last election just because I want to know who is President the evening of November 2nd; or the morning of the 3rd at the latest. Please don't let this election be a repeat of the last.
